As the country celebrates America’s 250th birthday over the Fourth of July weekend, Danville will be putting on a party of its own, complete with concerts, a parade, fireworks and other patriotic activities worthy of these historic events.
Things get going on Friday, July 3, with a free concert by Montgomery Gentry, leading into a day full of activities from Saturday morning throughout the afternoon and into the evening.

Free concert at Millennium Park
5:30 p.m. – Opening band Ridgeline

Saturday, July 4
8-8:30 a.m. – Flowers of Remembrance at the grave of Col. and Gov. Isaac Shelby, located at his former estate at Traveler’s Rest, 6725 Ky Highway 300, Junction City.
8:30 a.m. – Patriotic dedication at Weisiger Park, including a flag raising, 21 gun salute, bench dedication and the playing of taps.
11 a.m. – Patriotic Parade on Main Street in downtown Danville

1 p.m. – Patriotic events at Weisiger Park, including singing by a community choir, public reading of the Declaration of Independence, and additional music.

3 p.m. – Family activities
5 p.m. – Cornhole tournament
6 p.m. – Blue Groove Jazz combo
7 p.m. – Michael Fly and the Sounds

9:30 p.m. – Fireworks
