On October 5, the Perryville Battlefield State Historic Site will have a living history and commemoration. This is not a battle re-enactment.
The schedule includes:
9 a.m. – Living history area and museum open.
10 a.m. – Amanda Warren, Southern Cross: A New View of Leonidas Polk and His Clashes with Braxton Bragg lecture and book signing
11 a.m.- Kethy Witt, author of Perfect Day Kentucky: Day Trips, Weekend Getaways and Other Escapes! Book signing (Civil War Hall).
Noon – Memorial service at Union and Confederate monument
1 p.m. – Harriett A. Ruby, author of Little Graves, Ghost Stories and Scary Tales of Old Kentucky. She will give a lecture, followed by a book signing (Civil War Hall).
2 p.m. – Gerry Fisher, Guerilla Warfare in Civil War Kentucky, Vol. II, the Legacy of Irregulars-Lecture and Book signing.
3 p.m. – The History of the Perryville Battlefield State Historic Site, by Park Manager Bryan Bush
Artillery demonstrations throughtout the day.
