Big fun planned for Danville’s Small Town Christmas events

The magic of Christmas comes to town on December 2nd and 9th, with several new festive events in store.

In this two weekend holiday event series, there is something for every member of the family to enjoy, including visits with Mr. and Mrs. Clause, live music, bounce houses, goodie bags, ornament painting, food trucks, and more.

You’ll get to experience all of this when Danville’s Small Town Christmas kicks off on Saturday, December 2, at noon. On this first day you can also take an adventure on the trackless train that will be located on the street in front of Weisiger Park. The musical lineup throughout the day will include performances from Damon Spigle, Brad Hardin, Brooks Kidd, The Advocate Brass Band, and more. Things will wrap up with the Tree Lighting Ceremony at 7 p.m.

The second day of Danville’s Small Town Christmas will be on Saturday, December 9th, beginning at noon. Kids can meet with Santa and Mrs. Clause while enjoying cocoa and cookies, play in bounce houses, make Christmas crafts, or get their faces painted. Adults can shop in the Vendors Village and downtown shops. Live music throughout the day includes performances from Danville High School, Jim Smoak, Piper Madison, and more. Events lead up to Danville’s Small Town Christmas Parade at 6 p.m.

Through the generosity of different sponsors and donors, admission to Danville’s Small Town Christmas is free, as are most of the activities, so invite friends, family and neighbors – from Danville and beyond – to get into the holiday spirit this year in downtown Danville.
