Reverse Painting Workshop with Licia Priest at the Art Center of the Bluegrass

Explore the creative possibilities of layered acrylic painting on clear surfaces with nationally recognized artist Licia Priest. In this immersive workshop, participants will create a vibrant two- or three-layer composition that explores depth, color, pattern, texture, movement, and personal storytelling.

Drawing inspiration from influential artists such as Howardena Pindell, Joan Mitchell, Alma Thomas, Jackson Pollock, Mark Rothko, Gerhard Richter, Sam Gilliam, and others, participants will experiment with a variety of expressive techniques while developing their own unique visual narrative.

Licia will share artist examples, demonstrate techniques, and guide participants through each step as they create a dynamic layered artwork to take home. This workshop welcomes all skill levels and encourages creativity, exploration, and self-expression.

This is a female-only workshop. This program is made possible through the generous support of the Kentucky Foundation for Women.
