Visitors and locals can explore more of Danville and Boyle County, Kentucky, with the launch of the new Danville & Boyle County Passport, a free tourism challenge created by the Danville-Boyle County Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB).
The passport encourages people to discover 19 attractions, historic sites, museums and other destinations throughout Boyle County, including popular places such as Constitution Square, Perryville Battlefield State Historic Site and the Great American Dollhouse Museum. It also introduces participants to destinations they may not have visited before.
“The idea behind this passport is to get people to explore the county and stop in at most – or all – of those different locations to see what’s there and what they are all about,” said Kendall Clinton, executive director of the CVB. “You may discover places you weren’t familiar with and maybe a new favorite place to go back and visit in the future.”
How the Danville & Boyle County Passport Works
The Danville & Boyle County Passport is free and available at the Danville Visitors Center and Gift Shop at Constitution Square, 134 S. 2nd Street in Danville, Kentucky.
Once you pick up your passport, the challenge is simple:
- Visit the destinations included in the passport.
- Have your passport stamped at each location you visit.
- Explore at least 15 of the 19 destinations.
- Return your completed passport to the Visitors Center to receive a limited-edition prize.
The prize is a limited-edition coffee mug featuring icons representing all 19 destinations included in the Danville & Boyle County Passport.
“We wanted this mug to be something participants would genuinely be excited to earn and keep,” said Candace Arnold, marketing and communications specialist at the CVB. “Each location featured in the passport represents a piece of what makes our community special, and we wanted the mug to capture that spirit.”
Only 150 limited-edition passport mugs will be available. The mugs will go to the first 150 participants who collect stamps from at least 15 of the 19 passport destinations.
The passport is designed to encourage exploration throughout Danville and Boyle County, whether you are a first-time visitor, a returning traveler or a local looking for something new to discover.
There is no cost to participate, no purchase requirement and no admission requirement to receive a passport stamp at any of the participating destinations.
