For their 77th season, Danville’s Pioneer Playhouse will have three performances during their June-August 2026 season, but with some tweaks to their show times and dinner schedule.
Beginning with the opening of “The Play That Goes Wrong” on June 5, shows will begin at 8 p.m. instead of 8:30 p.m. And if you’ve enjoyed dinner before plays in the past, that will still be available, but only at 7 p.m. on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays.
For 2026, the play schedule will include:
“The Play That Goes Wrong”, which runs from June 5-27, Tuesdays-Saturdays.
This smash Broadway and London West End hit is part Monty Python, part Sherlock Holmes. This is the first professional production of the play in Kentucky.
“The Iron Baby Angel” runs from June 30-July 18, each Tuesday-Saturday.
This book adaptation – written by Pioneer Playhouse’s own Robby Henson – follows the (mis)adventures of young Harold Hines, Jr., a precocious Tom Sawyer-like protagonist as he navigates the quirky places and uniques faces that populated Danville in 1909. This play is being performed in conjunction with the Boyle County America’s 250 events taking place in Danville and Boyle County throughout 2026.
And finally, “Boeing Boeing” runs from July 21-Aug. 8. Back by popular demand, the production features Bernard, a self-styled 1960’s Paris lothario with an Italian, German and American fiancee – each a gorgeous airline stewardess with frequent “layovers.”
Along with another summer of theater, Pioneer Playhouse will also host “A Night of Elvis, Dolly, and Loretta” from Aug. 13-15, with two Elvis tribute artists, along with Dolly and Loretta tribute artists.
