People Watching Artist Reception at the Art Center of the Bluegrass

Every day, we see people going about their lives without really paying attention to them. We see people sitting in coffee shops, walking around town, talking with friends, looking at their phones, or simply lost in their own thoughts. People Watching is about noticing these everyday moments.

For this series, students observed people and captured candid moments through painting. They focused on expressions, gestures, body language, and interactions that can tell a story. Each painting gives us a small glimpse into someone’s life and invites us to wonder what might be happening.

Sometimes, the simplest moments are worth noticing.
